What distinguishes
Latter-day Saints (Mormons) from other faiths is that they are a temple
building people. Ever since the Church was founded, they have
erected temples. While other faiths do have temples, they are for
worship only. The LDS temples are built primarily for the purpose
of administering the ordinances essential to higher salvation and the
blessings of happiness and involvement in the spirit world.
We believe that these
ordinances furnish a passport, with keys and privileges that are
bestowed only in temples. Hence the importance of the temples of
God for the LDS people. To receive the Temple Letters,
simply put your name and email address below.
These Temple Letters
are a series of weekly newsletters delivered to your email. They
each take about 60 seconds to read, and consist of teachings, quotes,
and commentary on the purpose of the temple. The Temple Letters
also encourage you to attend the temple and devote some of your weekly
time to service there. These letters are primarily for members of
the LDS faith, but anyone is free to sign up and learn about the purpose
and perspective provided by temples. Your name and email are kept
safe and private.
You will also learn
about vicarious ordinances and how baptisms and other essential
covenants can be performed for those who have passed from this life
before receiving them.
Sincerely,
(Temple Letter
Creators)
